ENROLMENT IN THE COURSE
The status of student is acquired consequent to enrolment in the course.
Enrolment consists of the following:
- admission to the classification procedure and
- signing a contract with the College.
When a student has enrolled, the College issues him or her with a student booklet. The status of student can be verified with the presentation of this student booklet.
FULL TIME STUDENTS
Full-time students are those who are studying according to a curriculum based upon a complete tuition timetable.
The status of full-time student refers in time to the academic year for which the student is enrolled, that is, for the period from October 1 until September 30 of the following year.
1. ENROLMENT OF STUDENTS IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE UNDERGRADUATE COURSE PURSUANT TO PERFORMANCE IN THE CLASSIFICATION PROCEDURE
All applicants have the right to enrol in the first year of the course under equal conditions as laid down by the law and in the Statutes of the College within the number of places allowed for enrolment.
Students enrol in the first year of the course pursuant to performance in the classification procedure.
A person who has graduated from a three-year or four-year secondary school and who has submitted a full and properly completed application form may enter for the classification procedure and enrolment in the first year.
A person who has been admitted to the classification procedure and who has performed sufficiently well in this procedure according to the conditions laid down in the competitive examination may enrol in the first year of the course.
The selection of applicants for enrolment in the first year of the course is carried out according to the classification examination.
The objective of the classification exam is to verify the degree of the applicants’ capability for the course and the existence of a positive orientation and motivation for studying in the College.
The classification examination comprises a multiple-choice written part completed according to the instructions that the candidates obtain during the classification examination itself.
The classification examination lasts three (3) full hours, i.e. a total of 180 minutes.
The classification examination must be carried out on the set dates in summer and autumn depending on the number of applications received and the amount of places available for enrolment.
The classification examination can also be carried out before the set summer dates according to a special decision made by the dean.
Applicants for the classification procedure may be citizens of foreign countries if they submit a graduation certificate that has been recognised in Croatia (“nostrified”) from a three- or four-year secondary school.
If such persons acquire the right to enrol in the first year of the course according to the provisions of these Regulations, they will be so enrolled if along with other documents provided for in these rules they also submit a document proving they have an adequate knowledge of the Croatian language.
Instead of a Croatian nationality certificate, such persons must present a copy of a passport authenticated by a notary public, as well as a certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs that they have been permitted to reside in the Republic of Croatia for a period of at least one academic year, as well as a receipt for the payment of the whole of the tuition fee.
2. ENROLMENT OF STUDENTS INTO THE SECOND AND THIRD YEARS OF THE UNDERGRADUATE COURSE BY TRANSFER FROM ANOTHER TERTIARY LEVEL INSTITUTION
Students from faculties of economics and similar tertiary level educational institutions at home and abroad are allowed to enrol in the College if there is a good correspondence in the syllabus, curriculum and methods.
The status of student by means of transfer from another, similar tertiary level educational institution may be acquired in consequence of enrolment into the second or third year of the course.
A student who has gained 60 ECTS credits at an economic faculty or some similar tertiary level educational institution may be enrolled in the second year of the course.
A student who has graduated from a two-year course or who has gained 120 ECTS credits during the first and second years of a course at an economic faculty or some similar tertiary level educational institution may be enrolled in the third year of the course.
A student who has passed an examination at another tertiary level educational institution in subjects that correspond to subjects at the College may submit a written application for the examinations passed to be recognised.
For such recognition of examinations that have been passed at another tertiary level institution the student submits a written application to the administration of the College. In addition to the application, the student must submit the student booklet, a statement of grades (or a certificate of the examinations passed) and the curriculum of the subject for which the recognition of the examinations that have been passed is sought.
If the applicant is a student of a similar foreign tertiary level educational institution, the application must be accompanied by not only the documents from the preceding paragraph but also the originals and authenticated translations of:
- documents from which it can be seen that the institution is an institution of tertiary level education,
- a statement of grades (transcript),
- the course contents of the curriculum of the tertiary level institution in question.
If the applicant is not a citizen of the Republic of Croatia, as well as the documents given in the previous paragraph of this article, a high school graduation certificate that has been recognised in the Republic of Croatia and evidence of the necessary command of the Croatian language must also be appended.
While considering the application, the committee is bound to consult faculty who teach at the College those subjects for which the applicant has passed examinations at another tertiary level institution and is seeking to have recognised.
A student admitted for transfer to the College will have examinations recognised for subjects the curricula of which in course content and scope correspond at least 70% to the curricula of these same subjects at the College.
If the grading system of the tertiary level educational institution from which the student has transferred is not comparable, in the case of recognising the examinations, the committee will enter “passed” in the ruling.
GUEST STUDENT
A guest student is a person who is a student at a different tertiary level institution at home or abroad and who has enrolled in a given department or chair in the College for the sake of enlarging his or her knowledge or for the sake of a temporary residence in the Republic of Croatia, because of student exchanges or some other justified interest.
A guest student may enrol only for a given academic year, without the obligations and rights that students who are enrolled in the College have, or may enrol in only a given term or a given group of subjects, on condition that the student is enrolled in some other home or foreign tertiary level institution. The rights and obligations of students enrolled on this basis are laid down in the decision approving the enrolment.
Such students are entered in separate enrolment records and are issued a certificate from which the manner of enrolment, the status, the department studied in or the examinations passed and ECTS credits obtained can be seen.
A decision to admit a guest student is made by the dean of the College pursuant to an application from which it can be seen that the student has a proper reason for acquiring this character.
